Well its been almost two months since I was diagnosed with colon cancer and after surgery. Undergoing chemo. Just like others I too went to the net and the forum to get personal experience (Sad that such forums are not active in India), was initially very apprehensive after going through the forums, but chemo was not bad as expected.
Also had to live with a urinary catheter for almost two months, this limited my mobility and also caused lots of pain, man I feel sorry for those with catheters.
Next is my colostomy which I am hoping would be a temporary one though I have been warned that it might be permanent in view of radiation. Though it was limiting my and my family's lifestyle, I started wearing it such a way that I am able to clean it myself and also started noticing when it is very active and making sure I am at home during those times.
One problem which I am trying o find a solution is tucking my shirts so that I can go to work dressed smartly!
The one good thing in all these is that I am able to accept things in life an also have become a changed man in every aspect of life.
Also it has taught me the values of family, pain suffered by patients and also their apprehensions.
